Our academies take the form of small learning communities within larger schools and are organized around one of five career themes – Engineering, Finance, Health Sciences, Hospitality & Tourism, or Information Technology. DC CAN students have specialized experience in their career pathways which uniquely qualifies them for top-tier internship opportunities.
DC CAN interns are required to complete an employability skills curriculum that focuses on poise, initiative, and tenacity. Paid internships during the summer months may be supplemented by funds from the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program.
